London Fashion Week was host to a wide variety of brand new trends for Autumn/Winter 2012. Along with the FABness on stage our attention was also caught by the flock of stylish showstoppers that had created trends of their own. Here’s some of our favourite FAB trends that we spotted parading around Somerset House…
The AW12 collection from cult design duo Leutton Postle is visually arresting, playful and intensely detailed. Leutton Postle hit the Vauxhall Fashion scout show with artfully meld textured knits and reverse embellished together.
Displaying a range of techniques and effects, knitwear was common upon the catwalk, with extra eye-catching details thrown in to the look. Detailed edges made up of tiny pom-poms, metallic patchworks woven into garments and tasselled finishes all made appearances throughout the collection.
Any Bride who takes utter joy in planning their own wedding may start to seriously consider leaping into the world of wedding planning, as a new journey.
Alternatively those Brides who would rather not take on the overwhelming task and choose to have someone wonderful plan it for them will also enjoy this post and hopefully find some inspiration.

Vauxhall Fashion scout brings together some of the most creative up and coming designers in the industry, and last night they brought us La Vie by Ji Cheng new collection ‘Zen Awakening’. This is the first time designer Ji Cheng is showing her work in London to an audience of international fashion media and buyers.
Considered the foremost designer in Shanghi, her new collection combines the essence of classic Chinese art with modern Western techniques and tailoring. In this collection you can tell that Ji Cheng has employed her unique design methods and her Chinese traditional culture in a constant quest for beauty.

One of my favourite collections at London Fashion Week A/W 2012 was the Bora Aksu collection. The inspiration behind his A/W collection was, artist Henry Darger and his stories and pictures of The Vivian Girls in The Realms of the Unreal. Shades of sweet orange, dreamy pink, dusty grey and midnight black graced the catwalk. The models came out in a range of draped pieces which featured his signature bows.
The collection consisted of splashes of bold print which is sort of unusual for a Bora Aksu piece but we at FAB were loving it. The end result, a collection that was out of this world.
The penultimate show at the tent on the last day of womenswear at London Fashion Week was a Gothic luxe affair with Aminaka Wilmont’s fabulous juxtaposition of edgy leather and Toscana fur and softer draping in her ‘Vitro’ collection. The dresses were minimalist and structured, the knitwear shimmering with subtle iridescent thread woven through the fabric, the outerwear symmetrically tailored and bold in cut and draping, whether it be slick short jackets or longer draped coats.
As the chill out sound of Indian music greeted us at the tent for the Ashish show, we knew somehow the designer would take us into the heart of the east, from the tides of Ganges to the beaches in Goa. And gosh, we were in for an eastern delight of a show with ‘Bollywouldn’t’ as models took to the runway in a mix of Bollywood glam and slouchy sports luxe.
